・The Waseda University Extension College Winter Course, titled "Understanding the World from the Battlefield: War and Writers/Journalists," will begin accepting general applications on November 26, 2025. This course will explore masterpieces by writers and journalists focusing on human society during wartime and the truth of war, covering global conflicts of the 20th century, from the Spanish Civil War and World War II up to the Vietnam War. The authors and journalists featured are Ernest Hemingway, George Orwell, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, John Hersey, Osaragi Jiro, Donald Keene, Kaiko Takeshi, and David Halberstam. The course will be delivered as a total of 8 online live-streamed sessions, running from January 10 to February 28, 2026.

・Waseda University Extension College's winter on-demand course "Understanding the World Through International Reporting: Journalism That Protects Lives" will be available on-demand from November 26, 2025, to April 30, 2026. Registration opens November 26, with immediate access to view the content. Where is the world headed as it marks 80 years since the end of World War II? This course examines the future era by focusing on the wars and conflicts surrounding the postwar order. This lecture is an archived program from the 2025 summer semester.​

・"Understanding the World through International Reporting: The Post-Ukraine War and Journalism That Protects Lives" is a fall course offered by the Waseda University Extension College. Priority registration for members began on July 31, 2025, with general registration opening on August 26.
Focusing on Russia's invasion of Ukraine, this course will provide a comprehensive overview of the war's causes and structure, international political maneuvering, and the media's impact. The course will explore how this conflict has changed the world and Japan. The hybrid course will consist of 10 sessions from September 27 to December 6, 2025, with lectures held in person and live-streamed online.

・An essay titled "Guided by the Bonds Between Kamakura and My Hometown" was published in the June 2025 issue of Kamakura Shunju 55th Anniversary Commemorative Edition. It recounts the creative journey behind the historical novel "Houge" which depicts the prehistory of the Kamakura period of the Mōri clan.

​・Waseda University Extension College's summer online course "Interpreting the World from International Reporting, Journalism to Save Lives" will begin accepting pre-registration for members from May 9, 2025. General applications will be accepted from June 3. Where is the world heading after 80 years since the end of the war? We will look back on the postwar order with a focus on wars and conflicts, and consider the future. A total of eight sessions will be live-streamed online from July 5 to September 6, 2025. In addition, a free trial course introducing the course in advance will be available online for 30 minutes from 1:30 pm on Saturday, June 7.

・Waseda University Extension College's summer on-demand course "Understanding the World from War; War and Non-Fiction" will be available on demand from June 3 to October 31, 2025. General applications will be accepted from June 3 and will be available for viewing on the same day. This course is an archived program that was conducted in the winter semester of 2024.

・An essay titled "Taku Miki and Russia" has been published in "Poetry and Fantasy: The Heart of a Boy by Taku Miki" (Issue 48, 2024), a magazine founded by Takashi Yanase in 2007. This travelogue traces the localities where Miki, who spent his childhood in Dalian and Harbin during the war, was influenced by Russian culture at the time.
・Following the novel "Houge," the novel "The Jet Black Pyramid" has been translated into braille and made available on the Japan Braille Library Sapie, an online library for visually impaired people nationwide. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the braille translation volunteers.
